“On The Go Bride” blog, featured a wedding at Three Cedars Farm in Northville, Mi. that Teacup Wedding Officiant, Karla Groesbeck, performed. The Bride was fortunate enough to have this beautiful, vintage bridal gown that was worn by her Grandmother.
In the Bride’s words, from “On The Go Bride” blog, “My wedding gown was my Grandma’s wedding gown. My father’s mother’s gown, she wore it in November 1941. I have always wanted to wear her dress, it is just an amazing dress! It was long sleeves, all satin, with about a 5 foot train. I found a seamstress in Canton, MI, that has worked with antique dresses before, so I brought her my grandmother’s dress and brought in pictures of what I wanted it to look like. She completely cut the bodice off that my grandmother wore and I actually used one of the sleeves for my bouquet”.
The seamstress mentioned above is Kay Warnke. She’s well-known in the area for her work with bridal gowns, and accessories. Interestingly, Kay worked with my daughter on her wedding gown many years ago. Small world!

The magnificent interior ceremony setting of the rustic barn wedding venue at Three Cedars Farm, is in vast contrast to the grounds that surround the barn.

Kay Warnke did a great job reconstructing the bodice into a beautifully fitting, shirred, one-shoulder style.
These two fellas, joining in on the celebration for the newlyweds, are regulars at Three Cedars Farm. If you haven’t visited Three Cedars in the fall or winter, you’ll definitely want to stop by for some cider and doughnuts next month.
You may recall that I posted the photo above here last year from my visit to Three Cedars Farm.
What I didn’t post was the photos of our hayride back to the huge cornfield maze, the kids (and adults) having a lot of fun finding our way through the maze, and visiting with the farm animals. You can see all this, bonfires and more at Three Cedars Farm photo gallery. The sweetest little country store on the farm is filled with seasonal decor, and it isn’t just a fall family outing. It’s a winter wonderland, too.
